Analysis of eruptive solar prominences and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs)

Task 1.1. Selection of observational sample of eruptive prominences (EP) and flares, as well as identifying associated CMEs. Downloading and calibrating data.

Task 1.2. Investigation of pre-flare activity. Determination of the dynamic parameters of the investigated prominence eruptions and associated CMEs.

Analysis of pre-eruptive precursors of eruptions (changes in the filaments shape and brightness, initial activation) in different wavelengths. Investigation of the kinematic evolution of eruptions. Building the height-time evolution diagram as well determining the appropriate velocities and accelerations for the purpose of subsequent modeling.

Task 1.3. Determining the relevant morphological and dynamic parameters of EPs and flux ropes in our event sample, such as: eruption type, eruption velocities and acceleration, orientation of the filament or flux rope, helicity evolution. Analyses of the associated CMEs properties, such as time-dependent position, propagation speed, and acceleration, timescales of activation and acceleration. Tracing the evolution of photospheric magnetic fields beneath the eruptive prominences.

Expected results:

A detailed analysis of eruptions precursors. Investigation of specific morphological and kinematic properties of eruptions and their time evolution. Analysis of the processes leading to destabilization and eruption.
